Life after Miller:
1956 BS in Mechanical Engineering, Lehigh University
Less than a month after graduation from Lehigh, my wife Janet and I
were married. We celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2006. We have three
children, Rick, Susan, and Jill, with eight grandchildren.
After graduation, I joined GE on their three year Manufacturing Management
Program with assignments in Schenectady, NY, Paterson, NJ and Lynn,
In 1959, I took a “permanent” job in the Space Division
in Philadelphia and except for a four year
stint at SKF Bearings, remained with GE-Space until retirement in 1994.
My final position was as
manager of program operations for a satellite ground terminal.
We have lived in the Ambler, PA area for over 50 years. We are avid
Lehigh football fans, including
attending over 50 Lehigh-Lafayette games. I spend a large amount of
time at our church where I
have chaired the finance activities for over 20 years, and I do a fair
amount of driving and visiting
for the Cancer Society and other organizations.
Our family enjoys good health—we are blessed—and my wife
and I enjoy traveling including trips to Europe, China, South Africa,
Egypt, New Zealand and Australia. Both Janet and I play tennis or racquetball
several times a week and I also enjoy skiing. Life has been good.
